‘’Swaas’’ a sustainable bed and bath linens brand , designed and curated specifically for the Indian market, was founded by Dr Sudha Anand in the year 2012.
Dr Sudha , a medical doctor by education, decided to follow her passion for entrepreneurship and took over her family business BKS Textiles Pvt Ltd, a vertically integrated manufacturer and exporter of home textiles, founded by her father Mr Senthilkumar in the year 1985. BKS Textiles known for its high quality bedlinens, has been exporting to many countries like USA, UK , Europe, Australia and Japan.
BKS with its 40 years of legacy in bed and bath linens exports, has forayed into Indian domestic market under the brand name ‘’ Swaas ‘’.
What inspired Dr Sudha tolaunch ‘’Swaas’’ ?
In Dr Sudha’s words:
‘’I was looking for premium quality bed linen for my home and was surprised to find that there were very few brands in India, offering good quality bed linens and that too there were limitations like less design choice, no value for money, feel of the fabric not good etc.
Also, I could not find any brand that offered ‘’Solution’’! Meaning, I could not buy bed sheets matching with quilts and vice versa. This left me with very few options and I literally had to give up my search. I ended up making my own sheets and quilts in our factory in Indian sizes. This made me realise the need in the Indian market for premium quality bed linens on par with international quality standards and design trends. Also, I wanted to be a solution provider rather than a mere bedsheet seller. This is how Swaas was born!!
‘’Swaas’’ in many Indian languages means “Breath” and I feel that a good night’s sleep is as important as our breath!

Swaas linens are designed by our in-house design experts to deliver a subtle, simple and aesthetically pleasing look and feel.
The fabrics are made using premium quality cotton and other plant-based fibres like Tencel (from Eucalyptus tree), Bamboo, Linen, and Hemp.
At Swaas, we avoid using polyesters and synthetic raw materials that are harmful for the skin. This makes our product Skin Friendly!
Besides offering a good product, I wanted Swaas to have a positive impact on society and the environment.
For a positive social impact, I thought women empowerment is one of the best ways.
A woman empowerment enthusiast myself, I made sure that Swaas empowered many women. We are proud to say that all Swaas bed and bath linens are manufactured only by women!!
On the environment front, Swaas products have very less negative impact as we use organic certified dye stuffs for colouring the fabrics and our dyeing factory follows zero liquid discharge wherein we don’t let out even a drop of dyeing effluent that causes pollution and instead, we recycle and reuse up to 96% of the water.
This makes Swaas bed and bath linens Ecofriendly and Sustainable.
